Located at the intersection of Routes 436 and 408 is a small Village known as Nunda, a historical Village teaming with small shops and cafes. One such shop is Journey Quilt Co./Welch's Wicks & Wares located at 3 North State Street. OpenTuesday-Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM, Saturday 8 AM to 1 PM or by appointment. Walking through the large antique shop doors of once an old pharmacy known at the City Drug Store, one finds many treasures to enjoy and buy. Journey Quilt Co. welcomes you to a selection of over 3000+ bolts of cotton fabric, flannel, moleskin, polar fleece, minkee, wool felt, wool flannels, and many other "home" sewing fabrics you may be looking for.

You will be greeted by a friendly "Hi" and welcomed into the establishment, usually by one of the owners. Cindy and Fran Welch both believe in making you a friend. You the customer/friend are our main concern. We want to serve you and make you feel your trip to our small Village was a valuable adventure.

We have created a virtual trip slide show for you to view our shop. Looking at the 1832 facade one would think the shop would be small, but once inside you will know how it deceives you. Journey Quilt Co. is a working shop. We design and create many items for our customers. We alter clothing, replace zippers, rehab old clothing, create memory quilts, make and sell many quilts, table toppers, tote bags, purses, socks, mittens, rugs ... and the list goes on.

We have a great selection of gift items in the shop. Three cases of sterling silver jewelry, candles, incense, books, patterns, hand made socks and mittens, leather purses, antique lamps and parts, antique jewelry, and many seasonal items.

Journey Quilt Co. teaches classes throughout the year. Most of our classes are small and we do prefer the one on one classes so needed for the first time sewer/quilter.

We love to play games! One of our best received is Bring in 3 people plus yourself and we will call it your own personal "Shop Hop." Discounts and other incentives are given. We discount to Guild members and to you on your birthday! Usually, if you finish a bolt of fabric you will either get a discount or extra fabric. Either way you "win!"

Want to make a quilt, but cannot pick out your fabric? Just ask and we will be happy to assist you.
Need a pattern to make a quilt? Just ask Cindy, she will create one just for you or dig into her files to find a pattern ready for your project.

Do you want a quilt for a special occasion? Cindy will do that just for you. Need to buy a quilt? We have over 50 in stock all ready to be sold. We also have almost as many table toppers and tote bags for you to buy. Our prices are very fair - our quality is excellent.

Have a quilt top that needs to be quilted? We can do that on our Gammill long arm quilting machine and usually have it completed within a week or two. No long waiting at Journey Quilt Co. to get your quilt back. Each quilt is treated as the special project it is. Separate borders should have separate stitching. We specialize in quilting each quilt as if it were our own. No two quilts are quilted the same way. We also set up appointments for quilting. If you need a top completed in less we usually can accommodate you. Our job is to give you prompt and professional quilting.

Are you a school, Girl Scout, 4-H or quilt club? Do you want to come to Journey Quilt Co. for a field trip? Call us and we will be happy to accommodate you. Education is key to success for all sewers.

Our fabric is 100% cotton for quilting as well as home sewing projects. Our selection of fabric is totally unique to Journey Quilt Co. It has been expressed time and time again about our selection being so unique.

Journey Quilt Co. is a proud member of the Nunda Chamber of Commerce. We are active in Christmas in Nunda (the first full weekend in December), when the Nunda community comes out and celebrates a Hometown Christmas. Journey Quilt Co. always has a sale during Christmas in Nunda.

Finding an old quilt top in a trunk left to you from an estate can make you wonder --- What should I do with this? Many vintage quilt tops are not brought back to their earlier glory. Cindy at Journey Quilt can take your old unfinished tops and make them into a wonderful work of art for your wall or for you bed. Re-birthing these wonderful old tops brings back the joys of your childhood. It honors the creator of these quilts and keeps your family history alive. We are also offering vintage clothing construction. Many Civil War Reenactors have brought their uniforms for either alterations or to have additional repairs done on their uniforms. We at Journey Quilt enjoy the recreation of these outfits.

We also offer, one of a kind construction. If it is made out of fabric, leather or any other fabric related goods stop by and ask if we can be of assistance.
